Adfam is UK based charity organisation with a goal to make life easier for families of drug or alcohol addicts. We strive to give anyone affected by a family member's addiction the opportunity to get the benefit from supportive and healthy relationships, feel involved within a loving family and maintain a healthy mental as well as physical wellbeing.
The use of drugs and alcohol can ultimately destroy a family's wellbeing and the relationships within it.
To prevent this from happening, we encourage family members and caretakers, reassure frontline workers and impact those that make decisions.
What We Value
We listen to frontline workers and families We understand that people who face challenges usually have answers . So, we use compassion and evidence to inform, encourage and empower persons influenced by a loved one's substance abuse as well as the workers who help them. We develop abilities, resources, trust and pathways so both groups can assist themselves, their friends, clients and communities.
We're Driven By What Works
Our aim is to improve health and happiness decisions in family set up, work place and social gatherings. This is the secret behind our dynamic approach to drug and alcohol abuse. To accomplish all of this, we gladly accept different kinds of evidence, and we lean on real life experiences as well as formal scientific facts. Our work is inspired by our families, friends, supporters and co-workers and what they tell us works.
We're Committed To Fulfil Our Purpose
We are dedicated to providing the work of the best standard as we are serious about our job and partnerships. We promise to treat families and individuals affected by drugs and alcohol with dignity and respect because we know that stigma and prejudice are barriers to recovery and can cause harm.
